Obama blasts lies, disinformation?!
I wonder if Politico offered this headline with a straight face? They clearly didn’t show any skepticism or journalistic curiosity in Obama blasts lies, disinformation. The comments, mine included, are almost all incredulous at Obama’s audacity to continue spewing disinformation, lies, and legal maneuvering to avoid explaining his past.
Israel: An Axis of Evil
Remove “Israel” and “Jewish” from the text and say Country A and no one would dispute that Country A is an evil country, undemocratic, oppressive, outlaw, and an enemy of the U.S.:
- Commits piracy on the high seas, killing passengers, including an American citizen, and hijacking ships to its port; note as well that these latest deadly attacks are against a treaty-protected NATO partner and ally
- Engages in an expansionist policy stealing and occupying lands outside its borders
- Imprisons communities and regions with military blockaids
- Militarily attacks civilian populations at the slightest provocation
- Meets feable protests with deadly response
- Ignores international calls to honor borders, respect human rights, and follow commonly accepted or agreed upon civilized behavior
- Maintains an apartheid régime that treats a significant portion of its citizens as second class citizens and prisoners within their own country
- Is responsible for killing and injuring more Americans than have those who are the victim of its military occupation
Any country guilty of the above would be rightly be classified as an enemy of the United States. The country would be ostricized for its war crimes and human rights violations. Making excuses otherwise would be unheard of.
Confederates as terrorists? Yes.
I’ve always said that honoring the Confederacy was akin to honoring the Nazis. Likewise, it is, in my opinion, no less acceptable to display the Confederate flag than it is to display the Nazi flag. Roland Martin, who I have very little respect for, writes today on CNN (see Were Confederate soldiers terrorists?) a commentary that I agree with 100%. He concludes, justifiably, that Confederates were domestic terrorists.

Yes, Afghanistan is now Obama’s War. It was his since inauguration but make no mistake, from last night’s speech, it is clearly his and we can no longer blame Bush for the mess. It is now reasonable to label global warming, more formally known as Anthropogenic Global Warming (AGW) a fraud perpetrated by a group of self-serving scientists, doomsayers, and wannabes. For years we’ve been bombarded with scary forecasts and dire reports of man-made catastrophe. Skepticism was met with dismissive ridicule as deniers, equating critics with Holocaust deniers. Politico asks “Should Obama hit the reset button on the White House?
